The 2011 Whistle Competition was held on Saturday October 15th.

This is the only competition in the world for the recitation of the Burns poem The Whistle.

There were four competitors - Jimmy Law, William Waugh, Cameron Goodall and Les Byers.

For the second time the winner was Cameron Goodall, bandmaster of the Crochallan Fencibles.

The Club offers an invitation to compete to any Burnsian who knows this poem. If you wish to do so, please contact Doreen Moran, Secretary.

The evening will begin with a short poem from each of the participants followed by their version of “The Whistle”. Judging will take place during the interval when we will be entertained with songs from John Caskie and music from Karen Pollard playing the clarsach.

The event will take place this year at Ellisland Farm starting at 7pm prompt. Tickets are £6 each which includes a glass of wine and a finger buffet and are available from the Club Secretary or Treasurer - contact details on our Home page.
